THE ANNUAL ANMWE ANIME MILITARY APPRECIATION DRIVE

It is Military Appreciation Month and every year on Memorial Day we kick off our Military Appreciation Drive that lasts until the last day of June. We create an avenue for those individuals with used items or, in some cases, new items to donate them, ensuring that they will be benefit a service member and their family. Money, gift cards, or certificates of any kind are not acceptable.

All donations go directly to the military thrift shop located at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Forth Worth, Texas. For those who may not be familiar, military thrift shops, among other things, are an ingenious solution to the frequent uprooting of military families. The amount of household goods the military ships depends upon rank and at times it may not seem enough to take everything these families own -- especially in some instances where a household may have many children.

Some military families donate what they can’t take along from the base they leave and replace it at their next military installation's thrift shop.
This is just one of a very long list of ways that these shops make a profound impact. Also, they are open only a few days a week since the individuals who work at these shops are mainly volunteers.


If you are interested in supporting this initiative just keep in mind that items must be in clean and useable condition and some examples include:

  • LUGGAGE

  • Baby Items

  • Toys

  • Clothes

  • Sports Equipment

  • Household items

  • Art Work

  • Antiques

  • Hard/Soft Cover Books

We have locations within the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan area of Texas to drop off items, we coordinate with individuals to pick up donations (this isn't always possible), and also provide a physical address upon request to have items mailed. For example, in the past we've been mailed a pair of brand new infant socks directly from the retailer. A simple gesture that meant the world to someone else.
